RC Strasbourg is going head to head with Angers starting on 18 Feb 2023 at 20:00 UTC at Stade de la Meinau stadium, Strasbourg city, France. The match is a part of the Ligue 1. RC Strasbourg played against Angers in 1 matches this season. Currently, RC Strasbourg rank 17th, while Angers hold 20th position
In a rematch from the third round of the Coupe de France, Angers return to Stade de la Meinau on Saturday in search of their first Ligue 1 victory of 2023 when they battle Strasbourg. Both teams are currently in the relegation zone, with Angers bottom of the table on 10 points, eight fewer than the Alsaciens, who are a point below that line.
Consistency continues to be an issue for Strasbourg of late as they followed up a 2-0 victory over Montpellier HSC with a defeat away to Lille last weekend by that same score.
At the same time, they have not lost consecutive matches since Julien Stephan was sacked, but that was not enough for Mathieu Le Scornet to remain the interim boss as the club announced the appointment of Frederic Antonetti as the new manager this week, a man who most recently was in charge of Ligue 2 side Metz.
With only three wins after 23 domestic encounters, it is the fewest for this club to this point of a top-flight campaign since returning into Ligue 1 in 2017-18.
Strasbourg have lost three of their last four league games and have won just two of their last 14 games across all competitions. They, however, picked up a 2-0 win over Montpellier in their last game at the Stade de la Meinau to record their first home win of the season and will hope to build on that this weekend.
Angers are without a win in their last 15 Ligue 1 matches, with 13 of those games ending in defeat. They have lost six of their last seven away league games and could see defeat here as well.
Prediction: Strasbourg 1-0 Angers

Thomas Delaine could miss a few more weeks for Strasbourg due to a muscle strain, Eiji Kawashima is dealing with a sore shoulder, Jean-Ricner Bellegarde has a sprained ankle and Gerzino Nyamsi remains sidelined due to a groin injury.
Those are not the only potential exclusions for Antonetti in his debut match this weekend as Habib Diarra has a calf strain, Lebo Mothiba will not return until late February from an unknown injury and Jean-Eudes Aholou must sit out another match through suspension.
In their previous home fixture, a brace from Habib Diallo was all Le RCS would need to defeat Montpellier, while Matz Sels did not have to make a single stop to collect his second clean sheet of the competition and his first since September.
Strasbourg:- Sels; Doukoure, Perrin, Le Marchand; Guilbert, Sissoko, Kandil, Lienard; Sanson; Gameiro, Diallo
Angers:- Bernardoni; Valery, Houtondji, Blazic, Ghoulam; Abdelli, Capelle, Mendy, Hunou; Thioub, Sima

Nice vs Reims @ 5pm,
Strasbourg vs Angers @ 9pm.
Tip 1 – Result: Strasbourg
Tip 2 – Goals – Over/under 2.5 – Under 2.5 goals (Six of the last seven matches between the two sides have produced fewer than 2.5 goals)
Tip 3 – Both teams to score: NO (Both sides have found the back of the net in just one of their last seven matchups)
The home side have endured an underwhelming campaign and currently find themselves in the drop zone. They secured a 2-0 win over Montpellier a fortnight ago but soon returned to their old ways, losing 2-0 to Lille last Sunday after a largely disappointing performance that saw them fail to hit the target throughout the game.
Strasbourg sit 17th in the league table with just 18 points from 23 games and will be hopeful of adding to that tally on Saturday.
