    Sunil Chhetri comes back to national squad

    Sunil Chhetri got placed to India’s 25-man squad for an international friendly versus Jordan in Doha, that match is scheduled on May 28.     Sunil Chhetri comes back to national squad

    Chhetri, 37, last played for India in October. In the last match he played, they defeated Nepal 3-0 in the SAFF Championships final. But he  was sidelined owing to some injuries. 

    The  team  was chosen during a prolonged training camp in Kolkata, as stated by head coach Igor Stimac.

    Aside from Chhetri, Ishan Pandita has returned to the front line in place of VP Suhair and the injured Rahim Ali.

    Glan Martins, Ritwik Das, Udanta Singh, Sahal Abdul Samad, Suresh Wangjam, and Aashique Kuriniyan have been included in the midfield, while Pronay Halder and Danish Bhat have been left out.

    Rahul Bheke, Akash Mishra, Harmanjot Singh Khabra, Roshan Singh, Anwar Ali, Sandesh Jhingan, Subhashish Bose, and Pritam Kotal are among the players on the defense.

    While Gupreet Singh Sandhu and Amrinder Singh have remained constants behind the crossbar, Laxmikath Kattimani has taken over for Prabhsukhan Singh Gill, who was removed after his heroics in the ISL final.

    The Blue Tigers were camping in Bellary and Kolkata as part of their preparation for the AFC Asian Cup final round qualifiers. They have practiced against ATK Mohun Bagan, the Hero I-League and Hero Santosh Trophy All-Stars teams, as well as the West Bengal team.

    The Blue Tigers will travel to Doha on May 25 to persist their preparations for upcoming match against Jordan.

    Following the match, the squad will fly to Kolkata around May 30 to begin preparations for the AFC Asian Cup Qualifiers.

    The Team members include:

    Gurpreet Singh Sandhu, Laxmikanth Kattimani, and Amrinder Singh are the goalkeepers. Rahul Bheke, Akash Mishra, Harmanjot Singh Khabra, Roshan Singh, Anwar Ali, Sandesh Jhingan, Subhashish Bose, and Pritam Kotal are the defenders.

    Jeakson Singh, Anirudh Thapa, Glan Martins, Brandon Fernandes, Ritwik Das, Udanta Singh, Yasir Mohammad, Sahal Abdul Samad, Suresh Wangjam, Ashique Kuruniyan, and Liston Colaco are among the midfielders.

    Ishan Pandita, Sunil Chhetri, and Manvir Singh are the strikers.
