Ted Lasso, and AFC Richmond are making their debut in EA Sports FIFA 23
Ted Lasso, and AFC Richmond are making their debut in EA Sports FIFA 23: AFC Richmond has been promoted.
It was reported on Wednesday that the club from the blockbuster Apple TV+ show “Ted Lasso” would be playable in the upcoming EA SPORTS FIFA 23 video game.
Under career mode, kickoff, and online play, the Greyhounds will initially appear in the Rest of the World category but can be switched out anytime. Career mode will include Jason Sudeikis’ Ted Lasso.
In a statement, Sudeikis stated, “I consider this experience among the finest of them, and I am extremely fortunate and genuinely grateful to have had many special experiences in my career thus far.”
Including Ted Lasso and the entire AFC Richmond side in the newest version of EA SPORTS FIFA is like a dream come true for myself and the rest of the guys, who have been playing the game for years and are huge fans.
Phil Dunster, who plays star striker Jamie Tartt, is probably the most thrilled by the news. The music from FIFA 99 has stayed with Dunster for over two decades, and he remembers his first time playing the game like it was yesterday.
Football (soccer) is the “closest thing I’ve experienced to addiction,” Dunster joked to ESPN.
“My favorite team is AFC Wimbledon. Hence I always choose them when playing career mode. Then, once you’ve reached the top, it’s fantastic to watch [Leo] Messi take the field at Plough Lane.”
Because the Greyhounds’ stadium will also be a part of the game, Dunster has claimed he will likely have to alter his strategy to assist bring glory to the Nelson Road now that AFC Richmond has joined the fray. Roy Kent, Sam Obisanya, and Dani Rojas will also make appearances.
A weird experience for Dunster has been the character he plays in the show being included in the game.
No one at the time of his casting had any idea that the program would become as popular as it is today nationally and globally. The initial spark of excitement was the notion that he would finally be getting paid to play the sport he had been passionate about since childhood.
He was a lifelong football lover, so he described football rehearsals as “the coolest thing” the weekend he found out he won the position.
“The show ended up being considerably different from what was anticipated. The primary motivation was that I could act as though I were a professional footballer. Now I wasn’t ashamed to let people know that football was my source of income.”
Because of the show’s popularity, he added, people now have different expectations of him when he shows up to five-a-side games in London.
People would always recognize me as the man from “Ted Lasso”.
A Premier League footballer remarked, “Aren’t you meant to be like a Premier League footballer?” I quote Dunster: “It was humiliating since I knew I couldn’t measure up to their standards. It’s occurred a few times.”
Jamie Tartt, the protagonist he created, is not a useless creation. In the series, he was a star player for Lasso’s squad and a top prospect for Manchester City.
Dunster was curious to know Tartt’s player rating but had not been told.
“According to my best estimation, Jamie is 25 years old. He’s not quite at the level required to get a cap for England, but he’s a hot-shot striker.
Remember that Harry Kane has been in the starting lineup for England. Being an English striker is difficult since Harry Kane is always in top form “I quote Dunster: “
Therefore, it is likely because of a lack of opportunity that [Tartt] has not been performing at his absolute peak. In any case, he was a really, extremely promising player for City. I will suggest an overall 84 after considering all of these factors.”
Dunster’s reasoning was consistent with that of the game’s designers. Later, a representative from EA Sports FIFA verified that Tartt received an overall rating of 84, putting him one point behind Jamie Vardy of Leicester City and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang of Chelsea.
The release date for FIFA 23 is September 30.
