On Tuesday, January 10, Thailand will host Malaysia at Thammasat Stadium in the AFF Championship. The matchup is the semifinal second leg of the 14th edition of the AFF Championship, an ASEAN Football Federation-affiliated tournament. Faisal’s opening goal in the 11th minute at the Bukit Jalil National Stadium in Kuala Lumpur gave Malaysia a 1-0 victory in the fiercely contested first leg.
They may be able to swing the outcome in their favor with Changsuek hosting the return leg. With five championships, they are the most successful team in the Championship and the defending champions, having won the competition in 2020. However, Malaysia is frequently viewed as its foe.
They lost only to Vietnam in the group stage and finished second in Group B with nine points, behind leaders Vietnam. After defeating Thailand in the first leg of the semifinals, they are hoping for a fourth AFF Championship final, but that narrow victory might not guarantee their place in the final.
Coach Kim Pan-gon says that Harimau Malaya, who won the championship once in 2010, wants to improve its record in the Championship. However, it might be difficult for the visitors to maintain their one-goal advantage in Kuala Lumpur. It’s possible that the same rivals will engage in yet another thrilling game.

Teerasil Dangda leads the tournament with five goals, and when his team plays the visitors, he probably will score more. With two goals and an assist, Peeradon Chamratsamee has contributed to the hosts’ firepower. At the Thammasat Stadium, his contribution will be crucial.
With four goals, Faisal Halim is the second-highest scorer. In the first leg, he was the opposition for the hosts, and he will try to do it again. The visitor’s frontline may also be under threat from Stuart Wilkin, who has three goals.
Thailand, on the other hand, is expected to win because of their superior collective play, which saved them from disaster in the previous game.
Prediction: Thailand 3-1 Malaysia
Thailand has lost three of its last five matches, and two of those matches ended in a draw. In their last five home games, Thailand has won four and lost once. In their last five games, the hosts have given up three goals and scored 13 goals.
