Smriti Mandhana was the star of the WPL Auction 2023 because Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) bought her for 3.4 crores, making her the most expensive acquisition. The franchises fought valiantly and with a lot of drama to acquire their player in what turned out to be an entertaining day in Mumbai.

Ashleigh Gardner, an Australian all-rounder, sparked a huge bidding war, and Gujarat Giants (GG) ultimately purchased her for 3.2 crore rupees. Meanwhile, Mumbai Indians (MI) purchased England’s Natalie Sciver for 3.2 crore rupees, and UP Warriorz purchased Deepti Sharma for 2.6 crore rupees on a day that appeared to be one for all-rounders.

Jemimah Rodrigues hit the jackpot after scoring a match-winning, unbeaten half-century against Pakistan in the Women’s T20 World Cup. She was purchased by Delhi Capitals (DC) for 2.2 crores, and they also purchased Shafali Verma for 2 crores.

Ellyse Perry and Renuka Singh were purchased by RCB for 1.7 and 1.5 crores, respectively, and India captain Harmanpreet Kaur was sold to Mumbai for 1.8 crores. There were 87 players sold at the auction, including 30 international players. Devika Vaidya went to UP for 1.4 crores, Amelia Kerr went to MI for 1 crore, and Richa Ghosh went to RCB for 1.9 crores.
