2022 featured many spectacular game releases, however, some really stole the show with their graphics and art heading.

In 2022, players saw a wide variety of games of many various styles and levels of graphics that genuinely were awe-inspiring, from massive AAA hits to stellar nonmainstream games that took players off guard. The year was loaded up with dazzling titles, and there are a lot of other beautiful-looking games on the horizon for 2023. Meanwhile, be that as it may, players can take a glance back at the most beautiful games of 2022 underneath, recorded in no particular order.

    A Plague Tale: Requiem

    https://twitter.com/APlagueTale/status/1592570886980513792?s=20&t=0Jdh2tMJ3bc_ev0mt1WuSQ

Asobo Studio and Center Entertainment released the critically acclaimed continuation of A Plague Tale: Guiltlessness this year, and it is easy to see the reason why it is viewed as one of the most beautiful games of the year. Not in the least do the conditions and character models appear amazingly realistic, yet the realism also makes the swarms of famous rats all the seriously agitating.

A Plague Tale: Requiem has earned many accolades and has made its way onto many Game of the Year records because of its graphics, phenomenal composition, and grasping gameplay. It is also one of the most incredible loathsomeness games of 2022 that players shouldn’t pass up assuming they are searching for a rush that will also take their breath away with beautiful landscape. In a year of stand-out hits, A Plague Tale: Requiem is notably better than many other titles this year.

    Cult of the Lamb

We have been nominated for Outstanding Visual Style in the Steam Awards!

    — Cult of the Lamb (@cultofthelamb) December 24, 2022

Massive Beast’s Cult of the Lamb took the web by storm following its release thanks to the astonishing combination of its adorable art style with dark composition and savagery. As far as gameplay, Cult of the Lamb earned its place as one of the most incredible independent games of 2022 with its interesting combination of rebel-like prison crawling blended in with Animal Intersection village working with a cult-themed contort.

The art course for Cult of the Lamb is a major selling point for many, as there are not very many games that can be so charming and also so upsetting and dark, and its particular style makes sure fans’ eyes stay on it.

    Elden Ring

We are deeply humbled. Thank you for your enduring support. #ELDENRING https://t.co/E2YeKy38EB

    — ELDEN RING (@ELDENRING) December 13, 2022

FromSoftware’s smash hit Elden Ring is the studio’s initial real endeavor into a genuine open-world title, and one thing is certain with The Lands Between the view is beautiful, in the event that occasionally in upsetting ways like Caelid or the Lake of Decay. The world that FromSoftware created for players to investigate as they please is loaded up with beautiful vistas, treacherous foes, and a lot of insider facts to reveal.

From the second that players first reach The Initial Step Site of Grace, they are hit with a broad perspective on Limgrave and its moving slopes and trees. From that point on, players can pick where in The Lands Between they wish to investigate, whether they want to climb the towering Stormveil Castle or adventure south into the Sobbing Peninsula. Regardless of where their process takes them, this game is loaded up with minutes that are certain to be breathtaking.

    God of War Ragnarok

To close out an incredible 2022, we want to highlight a selection of photos our VGP community has captured so far in #GodofWarRagnarok!

We can't wait to see what you create next year 💙

    — Santa Monica Studio – God of War Ragnarök (@SonySantaMonica) December 23, 2022

God of War Ragnarok was easily one of the most anticipated games of 2022, especially for individuals who own a PlayStation. The 2018 release of God of War set inconceivably exclusive requirements for graphics, and God of War Ragnarok easily adapted to the situation. In this new installment to the God of War series, Kratos, Atreus, and other memorable characters from the 2018 game endeavor through the Nine Realms, and each realm is dazzling by its own doing.

Midgard is being hit hard by snowstorms achieved by Fimbulwinter, so players invest their energy there traversing frozen landscapes by sled, Vanaheim’s tropical wildernesses feature beautiful and deadly plant life, and barely any areas feature very as many brilliant experiences as Jotunheim. The landscapes in God of War Ragnarok alone are sufficiently amazing, however, while factoring in the character models, the various cutscenes, and so on, it’s easily one of the most beautiful games of the year.

    Horizon Forbidden West

Digital Foundry has awarded Horizon Forbidden West with the best graphics of 2022.

This is one award that Horizon definitely deserves to win. Hands down the best looking game of the year. pic.twitter.com/VmBfJAaPJs

    — KAMI (@Okami13_) December 24, 2022

Horizon Forbidden West is another of PlayStation’s enormous releases of 2022, and very much like God of War Ragnarok, Horizon has a heavy spotlight on beautiful views and visuals that are really remarkable. Horizon Zero Dawn didn’t hold back in the graphics department, and the same remains valid with Horizon Forbidden West as Aloy investigates another massive open world map loaded up with beautiful landscapes and magnificent mechanical beasts to battle.

Horizon Forbidden West takes the great foundation that Horizon Zero Dawn laid out as the primary section in the new franchise and expands upon it with a solid spotlight on exploration and much more fantastical mechanical beasts to battle. This is further emphasized thanks to the game’s spectacular photo mode that allows players to capture fun or cinematic pictures at whatever point they like. Fans can also expect additional beautiful views from Horizon Forbidden West when its impending Consuming Shores DLC launches one year from now solely on PS5.

    Kirby and the Forgotten Land

#Kirby and the Forgotten Land inhales Best Family Game at #TheGameAwards!

Thank you for all the incredible support! pic.twitter.com/xUvjZZnayy

    — Nintendo of America (@NintendoAmerica) December 9, 2022

Games in the Kirby franchise have a record for being exceptionally adapted games, whether that be the dearest Canvas Revile or perhaps Kirby’s Legendary Yard. Kirby and the Forgotten Land features an exceptionally clean, fresh cartoonish style that really encapsulates the soul of the dearest pink legend.

While the levels in Kirby and the Forgotten Land are typically fairly linear, this allows HAL Laboratory to zero in its endeavors on making these levels absolutely beautiful and loaded with fun things to investigate as Kirby. Everything from the grass to the particle impacts for Kirby’s powers is impeccably crafted to make Kirby and the Forgotten Lands a charming and magnificent experience that is ideally suited for all ages.

    Pentiment

Ursula from Pentiment is peak character design when it comes to little children in video games. Pure chaos! pic.twitter.com/Jn4jSly8ev

    — Radek (@gamebowski) December 26, 2022

With regards to adapted games, Pentiment is perhaps one of the most artistically styled games of the year. Obsidian’s storybook-propelled game presents itself exactly like that: a storybook. This narrative adventure game may not be as action-packed as a portion of Obsidian’s other hit games, yet pentiments composing is probably awesome of the year and the art style is genuinely exceptional.

It is very much like the event that an individual was reading an animated storybook while attempting to settle the secret inside. While there may be a ton of reading to do and a ton of important choices to make, players ought to take their time and genuinely soak up the beauty and oddity that Pentiment brings to the table as it is really exceptional.

    Return to Monkey Island

Return to Monkey Island (Steam) is $16.85 on Gamesplanet https://t.co/PI9JLgbnpS #ad

    Deck verified

    also on Game Pass pic.twitter.com/811zX7yYSw

    — Wario64 (@Wario64) December 23, 2022

Return to Monkey Island is the 6th installment of the Monkey Island series, however the first with this interesting picture book-enlivened art style and UI. Resuscitating a series and changing its notorious look such a long way after its past release is almost unheard of, however on account of Return to Monkey Island, it is perhaps the most ideal choice as it fits impeccably with the style of the series and, to certain players, is much more dearest than the original point-and-snap games were.

Similar to Pentiment, Return to Monkey Island is great for those hoping to involve really thinking in the games they play, and Return to Monkey Island will guarantee players have a great time while partaking in the beautiful art that has been crafted for Guybrush Threepwood’s latest adventure.

    Scorn

A free mind; consciousness unconstrained. pic.twitter.com/T8lKsv6UDq

    — Scorn (@scorn_game) December 14, 2022

“Beautiful” is perhaps not a word a great many people would use to portray Scorn from the beginning, however it is undeniable that Scorn has a visceral art style that is gross in the best of ways. Ebb Software takes heavy inspiration from famous artist H.R. Giger with regard to its plans for almost every aspect of Scorn, from the creatures in the game to the very floor the player walks on.

While Scorn may not have scored unimaginably well among pundits, it cannot be understated the way in which great and frankly disturbing Scorn’s art configuration is, and that alone merits investigating at least to encounter it firsthand.

    Signalis

    #SIGNALIS pic.twitter.com/YSmgK269W2

    — InfernoD (@Inferno521x) December 25, 2022

Signalis takes heavy inspiration from PS1-era frightfulness games like Inhabitant Fiendishness, and it is hands-down one of the most mind-blowing spiritual replacements to that type. Not exclusively is Signalis a spectacular and challenging frightfulness game along these lines as the original Inhabitant Evil, however, it also captures the interesting, pixilated style of more seasoned PS1 games.

Notwithstanding, instead of simply making the game look dated, the plans are intentional to the point that the whole game falls off far more adapted than the old games do. It is an ideal example of games “seeming to be the means by which one recollects” instead of actually seeming to be a PS1 game, as it looks like it is enough to emulate the vibe, and that is something hard to get down perfectly.

    Stray

    The #Stray frame is complete! ❤️ pic.twitter.com/7EV3Sc1qpR

    — Frame-A-Game (@FrameAGame) December 16, 2022

Stray immediately took the web by storm after its announcement back in 2020, as relatively few games let players investigate the world as a regular cat. Considerably fewer games let players investigate a beautiful, robot-filled, cyberpunk city with heavy Japanese inspirations while settling puzzles and platforming as a cat.

The city that the player investigates in Stray is really beautiful. It captures the beautiful neon lights of a cyberpunk world while also honoring its Japanese inspirations through robot plans and architecture. While a relatively straightforward idea, Stray scored staggeringly well and even took home Best Independent at The Game Awards. It’s a beautiful and short experience that players can appreciate in only a sitting or two, and the view doesn’t disappoint during that brief time frame.

    Tunic

    https://twitter.com/FinjiCo/status/1601014020273602560?s=20&t=0Jdh2tMJ3bc_ev0mt1WuSQ

Tunic was one of the many shock-independent hits of the year, especially considering the game was predominantly created by one designer. Tunic wears its old-fashioned Legend of Zelda inspirations gladly on its sleeve, and it follows a charming fox protagonist as they investigate an unquestionably dangerous and rebuffing world following just their impulses and an NES-styled manual that the player should sort out.

The art style for Tunic is genuinely exceptional, and it features vibrant varieties that really pop in contrast to the effortlessness of many of the encompassing plans inside the game. Insufficient can be said for the attention to detail that was filled Tunic, especially with regards to the manual that players reveal, as it genuinely feels like a booklet one would find in an old NES case.

    Xenoblade Chronicles 3

    https://twitter.com/NintendoUK/status/1560695594246672384?s=20&t=0Jdh2tMJ3bc_ev0mt1WuSQ

Xenoblade Chronicles 3 is an ideal example of what the Nintendo Switch can really do with appropriately planned and streamlined games. Xenoblade Chronicles 3 isn’t only one of the most incredible Switch games of 2022, however, it is also one of the most beautiful games of the year.

This cherished JRPG not in the least does countless things right as far as game plan areas of strength for and composing, yet it also features an extremely classy anime art style that is normal in JRPGs (yet taken to a higher level). Xenoblade Chronicles 3 crafts an open world that is genuinely beautiful to wander around in while exploring, enlisting legends, or building characters.

It is genuinely a perfect representation of what the Nintendo Switch can do when games are appropriately enhanced and intended for the hardware.
