    PM Narendra Modi lavished praise on captain Shafali Verma of the Indian U19 women’s cricket team for her outstanding performance during the ongoing World Cup.

    Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised India U19 captain Shafali Verma’s “terrific” performance in the Women’s U-19 T20 World Cup on Wednesday.

    “Young athletes who do well at Saansad Khel Mahakumbh are chosen to continue their training at the training centers run by Sports Authority of India. It will help the youth power of the country. Over 40,000 youths are participating in this Mahakumbh,” the PM added.

    The first phase of the Khel Mahakumbh took place from December 10 to December 16, 2022. The second phase will take place from January 18 to January 28, 2023.

    “The Khel Mahakumbh hosts numerous indoor and outdoor sports competitions. Including wrestling, kabaddi, kho kho, basketball, football, hockey, handball, chess, carrom, badminton, table tennis, and others.”
