Three reasons why LSG should not have KL Rahul as captain in the IPL

With a stacked program highlighting probably the best T20 players on the planet, the Lucknow Super Goliaths (LSG) have been among the top choices for the title since joining the Indian Head Association (IPL) in front of the 2022 season. Since joining the Indian Premier League (IPL) prior to the 2022 season, the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) have been among the favorites for the title with a loaded roster that includes some of the best T20 players in the world.

Despite the fact that Rahul is unlike any other run bank in the shortest format, there has always been debate regarding his captaincy and intent at the top of the order. With the Super Giants having lost three of their seven matches in IPL 2023, the captain is under more and more pressure.

LSG might be wise to let another player take control. Since Rahul hasn’t proven to be up to the task so far, they may need to look to the next auction to sign a new skipper because there are no ideal candidates on the current roster. There are three reasons why LSG should not have KL Rahul as captain in the IPL.

    3) In the IPL, the Lucknow Super Giants have not done well so far.

After the IPL 2022 closeout, LSG appeared to have perhaps of the best program on paper. They had a good chance of finishing in the top two, but they lost their way toward the end of the season and ended up in the Eliminator.

Lucknow’s first playoff game was lost, and the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) made it to Qualifier 2. They entered the current campaign with a more well-rounded unit, so it’s understandable that they turned to the 2023 auction to fill the squad’s gaps.

Mohsin Khan’s absence from LSG has been detrimental as he recovers from a shoulder injury. They have, however, had Mark Wood back and Nicholas Pooran added to their middle line. The team shouldn’t have lost games when they were in a good position to win like they have this year.

KL Rahul needs to take responsibility for the fact that LSG haven’t been able to match the strength of their team. Different skippers in the association, similar to MS Dhoni and Sanju Samson, have figured out how to stay away setups with lacks to more noteworthy levels.

Rahul hasn’t been able to achieve the same results as the Super Giants despite having every ability in the world.

#2 The batter, KL Rahul, may have more freedom.

It has been established for a considerable amount of time that KL Rahul’s issues as a batter are mental in nature. Even though he is one of the best T20 batters in the world when he bats well, he often hides and eats balls. Since taking over, Rahul’s intentions at the top of the hierarchy have only gotten worse. He has played several innings that have been criticized for their overall negative impact for both LSG and the Punjab Kings (PBKS).

Rahul has captained in the IPL starting around 2020, and his strike rates don’t make for pretty perusing. Since 2018, he hasn’t scored more than 140 runs in a season, and his growing stature as a cricketer seems to have held him back more than helped him play his best.

Rahul could be released as a batter without the added burden. He may be allowed to play his going after game and help the groups he is a piece of, in spite of the fact that it’s difficult to with certainty express that captaincy is the explanation he’s playing along these lines.

Even when he hasn’t been leading the Men in Blue, Rahul has played some odd knocks for Team India in T20Is. While this may not be a one-stop arrangement, it could help. In any event, it could allow the 31-year-old a rude awakening, one he seemingly needs.

    1) Throughout IPL 2023, KL Rahul and LSG exhibited poor tactical performance.

KL Rahul and LSG have been viewed as needing strategically in pretty much every game, having settled on a progression of questionable choices this year.

Any semblance of Krunal Pandya, Ayush Badoni and Marcus Stoinis have been spent the request haphazardly, with Nicholas Pooran enduring subsequently. Quinton de Kock has been warming the seat, while the bowling changes haven’t been extraordinary by the same token.

Rahul has wasted games from winning positions with both the bat and the ball and has frequently failed to bowl out his best bowlers. Against PBKS, his captaincy with Ravi Bishnoi was particularly appalling.

In every department, LSG have been sloppy in their tactics. While a portion of that can be credited to the care staff, the skipper should expect some responsibility as well. Rahul doesn’t appear to be particularly good at captaincy, and he has never been recognized as an intelligent skipper.
