In the IPL 2023 mini-auction, England’s Sam Curran, an all-rounder, is the most expensive player. Curran is now the highest-paid English player in the history of the Indian Premier League auctions, trailing only Ben Stokes, a former Indian cricketer. Two other players’ earnings were either comparable to or greater than Morris’s.
Mumbai Indians reportedly purchased Cameron Green, a young Australian all-rounder, for Rs 17.5 crore. The Chennai Super Kings have paid Rs 16.25 crore to acquire England star, Ben Stokes. With his purchase by Lucknow Supergiants for Rs 16 crore, Nicholas Pooran became the most expensive West Indian player ever. Sunrisers Hyderabad purchased England batsman Harry Brook for Rs 13.25 crore.
As part of the transaction, SRH also acquired Mayank Agarwal for Rs 8.25 crore. The first player to be traded to the Gujarat Titans for Rs 2 crore was Kane Williamson. Shivam Mavi, a pacer, was acquired by the Gujarat Titans for Rs 6 crore, and Mukesh Kumar, a surprise selection, was acquired by the Delhi Capitals for Rs 5.5 crore.

With Punjab Kings’ purchase of the star Englishman for a staggering INR 18.5 crore, Sam Curran became the most expensive purchase in an IPL auction. Since Curran joined the lucrative T20 league offered by the Punjab franchise, no player has ever been acquired for a price.
The English all-rounder was named Player of the Tournament after a stellar performance at the T20 World Cup 2022, which just wrapped up. As a result, it came as no surprise that numerous franchises were eager to acquire the player.

Cameron Green of Australia followed the trend of igniting a bidding war when the Delhi Capitals and the Mumbai Indians, five-time winners of the Indian Premier League, engaged in competition for his services. When Mumbai seemed determined to acquire the player ahead of the new season, which they did to their right, things quickly got worse. Mumbai purchased Green for a record-breaking INR 17.50 crore.

Ben Stokes, a fellow Sam Curran, attracted interest from a number of franchises after the star all-rounder helped England win the T20 World Cup earlier this year in Australia. RCB, RR, and LSG began the initial rounds of raising the stakes with a total of 2 crores before Chennai Super Kings joined the fray and ultimately paid INR 16.25 crore for Stokes.
