Rahul Dravid is an Indian cricket coach and former captain of the Indian national team who now serves as its head coach.
Dravid was the Head of Cricket at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) before joining the senior men’s national team.
He also served as the head coach of the India Under-19 and India A teams.
Under his supervision, the Under-19 team finished second in the 2016 U-19 Cricket World Cup and won the 2018 U-19 Cricket World Cup.
The former skipper is a cricketing legend, having represented India in 164 Tests, 344 ODIs, and one T20I, scoring 24,064 runs in 504 matches at an average of 45.57, with 48 tons and 145 half-centuries.
He led India in 79 ODIs and 25 Tests, winning 42 and eight, respectively.
Dravid is often regarded as ‘The Wall of Indian Cricket’ due to his contributions to the game.
The right-handed batsman holds various records, including nearly 10,000 runs in both Tests and One-Day Internationals.
Rahul Dravid led the U19 Indian team to the 2018 World Cup. And the senior squad to the finals of the ICC’s World Test Championship (WTC) and ODI World Cup last year.

Meanwhile, Rahul Dravid has confirmed India skipper Rohit Sharma and Yashasvi Jaiswal as openers for the first T20I against Afghanistan.
He asserted that the duo will do the left-right combination. Dravid went on to explain why Ishan Kishan and Shreyas Iyer were not chosen in the T20I squad.
