In the Derbi de la Comunitat (Valencian Derby) in La Liga on Saturday (December 31), Villarreal will host Valencia, one of their local rivals, at the Estadio de la Cerámica. In their most recent outing in the league, both teams resumed their winning ways. Villarreal succeeded at Espanyol, on account of an own objective from goalkeeper Benjamin Lecomte.
With 21 points, they are in ninth place in the league table. In contrast, Valencia defeated Real Betis 3-0 at home thanks to a strong performance in the second half. In the 61st minute, Valencia scored three goals after Edgar González was sent off. Andre Almeida, Hugo Guillamon, and Justin Kluivert were on the scoresheet.
Valencia is in the 10th spot in the standings and trails the hosts by two. This season, Villarreal will play their first game at the newly renovated Estadio de la Ceramica. They want to win to start their time there.

In their last seven games, the Yellow Submarine have lost four and won three of their last seven. This has made them inconsistent in their league. They will aim to put on a strong performance against their local rivals, who they have defeated three times in five games played at home.
In their last six league games, Valencia has only one victory and two consecutive 1-1 draw in away matches. It’s possible that the match will end in a draw given the two teams’ recent form.
Prediction: Villarreal 1-1 Valencia
In competitive games, this will be the 56th edition of the Derbi de la Comunitat. 11 games have ended in draws, despite Valencia having a 24-20 lead. In eight of Villarreal’s last ten league games this season, fewer than 2.5 goals were scored. Villarreal has scored two goals in each of their last three home games against the visitors.
Valencia has gotten only one win on their voyages this season, while the hosts have experienced only one loss in home games this season. With seven clean sheets in 14 games, Villarreal has the second-best defensive record in La Liga this season (10 goals conceded).
