In the Championship, West Bromwich Albion will play Coventry City at the Hawthorns on Friday, February 3. Under manager Carlos Corberan, the hosts have had a successful start. However, West Brom’s good league run ended with a 2-1 defeat to league leaders Burnley, and they lost 3-0 to Bristol City in the FA Cup fourth round to be eliminated.
With 41 points from 28 games, West Brom are tenth in the league. Coventry, on the other hand, has struggled since the World Cup, despite having mixed results this season. Last time out, they beat Huddersfield Town 2-0 at home to get back to league winning ways. In the second half, Kasey Palmer and Gustavo Hamer scored goals.

After going six games undefeated, West Brom are now on a losing streak of two consecutive games. However, they will be excited about their chances here given that they have won their last six games at home.
In the meantime, Coventry will attempt to build on their recent victory, which ended a six-game losing streak. However, they have lost their last three games played away, and this pattern may continue.
Prediction: West Bromwich Albion 1-0 Coventry City
West Brom has a 32-18 advantage in 67 previous meetings. The visitors ended a six-game losing streak in their most recent meeting with a 1-0 victory. Only four of the nine league defeats the Baggies have suffered this season have been at home.
Coventry has won only three of its ten league games this season. The Sky Blues rank joint-lowest in the bottom half of the league with 31 goals conceded this season. This season, the visitors have kept the most league clean sheets 13 of any team.
Marc Albrighton and Nathaniel Chalobah joined West Brom at the deadline to strengthen their midfield options. Both players could make their Albion debuts against the Sky Blues on Friday night. The agreement to sign the 33-year-old Albrighton was especially important because winger Matt Phillips, a former Queens Park Rangers player, was injured during the FA Cup win over Chesterfield.
Phillips was expected to be out for several months. Due to Albion’s inability to bring Chelsea loanee Omari Hutchinson to The Hawthorns on deadline day, Karlan Grant’s proposed move to Swansea City did not materialize. He will be available for selection on Friday.
Dara O’Shea and Erik Pieters only have Semi Ajayi to compete with for two spots in Albion’s central defensive unit because fellow defender Martin Kelly moved on loan to Wigan Athletic this week and Kyle Bartley remains out with a foot injury. Martin Kelly is a defender.
Matt Godden, a forward for Coventry, made his first appearance since October in the victory over Huddersfield. If chosen from the start, the forward will assist Gyokeres in the visitors’ attack on Friday.
You know we finally here, right? 🫡
