On Saturday, December 17, West Bromwich Albion and Rotherham United will compete for three points in an EFL Championship matchday 23 matches. With a 2-1 comeback victory over Sunderland on Monday, the hosts continued their recent upswing.
The Black Cats took the lead in the 19th minute through Amad Diallo, but Sunderland was defeated by Daryl Dike’s impressive second-half cameo, in which he assisted on Tom Rogic’s equalizer and scored the winning goal. In the meantime, Bristol City defeated Rotherham 3-1 at home.
The visitors took an early lead thanks to an own goal from Wes Harding, but Joe Williams and Cameron Pring later leveled the score. The Millers fell to 18th place in the standings after scoring 26 points in 22 games. Due to the goal difference, West Brom is one spot ahead of West Brom, despite having fewer games.

West Brom’s impressive run of form has kept them out of the relegation zone. Their four-game winning streak was largely due to their defense. With a win over a struggling Rotherham team that has fallen further and further behind in the standings in recent weeks, the Baggies will attempt to extend that winning streak. West Brom ought to win by a small margin and keep a clean sheet.
Prediction: West Bromwich Albion 1-0 Rotherham United
There have been 13 previous encounters between the two teams. With eight victories, West Brom has outperformed Rotherham, which has only two. West Brom won their most recent meeting in April 2019 by a score of 2-1 at home. In their last eight league games, Rotherham has lost five and won just one.
This season, they have only two victories at home. In the league, West Brom has won four games and conceded once from the spot. Only two of West Brom’s 11 Championship home games this season have seen a halftime lead. Both teams scored in Rotherham’s last five league games.
