India has not traveled to Bangladesh for an ODI series since 2015 when they lost 2-1 to the hosts in that three-match series. Since then, the two teams have met once at the Champions Trophy (2017, 2018), twice at the Asia Cup (2018, and 2019), and once at the World Cup.
India dominated each of the four matches. Out of the 36 ODI matches between the two teams, India has won 30 while Bangladesh has won five and one match has ended in a draw. Litton Das will lead Bangladesh in the absence of Tamim Iqbal, who was ruled out of the ODIs with a groin injury.
Rohit Sharma is in charge of India’s contingent, which includes both established stars and newcomers. In a group that also includes Shikhar Dhawan and Virat Kohli, KL Rahul will serve as vice-captain. Mohammed Shami was initially included in the squad,
but due to a shoulder problem, he was dropped. He will likely be replaced on the side by Umran Malik. In the past, Ravindra Jadeja was also ruled out of the series.
