Who is Puja Tomar?
Pound for pound, 25-year-old Puja Tomar is ranked 13th among 97 active Asia Southeast women in 2023.
1.45m tall, 52 kg heavy, with a pro-MMA record of 7-4-0 (Win-Loss-Draw).
Tomar started his martial arts instruction when he was a small child in Muzaffarnagar, Uttar Pradesh, where he was nurtured. She was inspired to become a skilled fighter by Jackie Chan when she was a young kid and looked up to him. She weighs 115 pounds (52.16 kg) and is 4’9″ (145 cm) tall.
After her father went away when she was just six years old, another reason she needed to study self-defense was to protect her mother, her three sisters, and her family. In an interview with Scroll, Tomar recalled her early years and childhood:
All three of our sisters were there. I used to get quite upset when someone bothered or teased one of my sisters because she had an issue with her leg.
She had already started striking the boys, according to Tomar. When she was younger, she enjoyed watching Jackie Chan films and thought she might utilize some of his stunts to her advantage when facing these boys. Puja was simply drawn to martial arts at that time.
Tomar has five Wushu titles under his belt in addition to having studied karate and taekwondo. The Indian actress values her mother as a significant inspiration and is appreciative of how she helped her pursue MMA as a career. Before joining MFN, she participated in the Super Fight League and the ONE Championship, two of the biggest MMA competitions in South Asia.
