On Saturday, February 18, Royal Antwerp and Eupen will compete for three points in a Jupiler League matchday 26 matches. At the weekend, the hosts defeated table-toppers Genk by a narrow margin of 1-0. The goal by Gyrano Kerk in the 58th minute stood out as the difference between the two teams.
Eupen, on the other hand, won back-to-back games at home against KV Mechelen 2-1 to earn all three points. In the tenth minute, Birger Verstaete gave the visitors the lead, but the hosts made a dramatic turnaround and scored two goals in the final five minutes.
In the 86th minute, Konan Ndri brought the game level, but Brandon Baiye scored the winner in extra time. The Pandas gained a four-point advantage over the bottom three thanks to the victory. Antwerp remains in third place with 50 points from 25 matches, while they are 14th with 25 points.

After beating Genk, Antwerp moved into contention for the title, and the Reds will want to keep that momentum going with another victory. Against a Eupen team that has won just one of their last seven league games, they are the clear favorite.
With a positive outcome, the Liege team will want to stay out of the drop zone even further. However, they will need to surprise the second-best team in the league at home. Antwerp ought to prevail comfortably and keep a clean sheet.
Prediction: Antwerp 2-0 Eupen
The two teams have fought 35 times before. Antwerp holds a 19-7 advantage, but nine games have ended in a tie. Antwerp won their most recent meeting 1-0 on the road in August 2022. Eupen’s victory over KV Mechelen brought an end to their six-game losing streak.
At least one team has failed to score in eight of Antwerp’s last nine competitive games. In Eupen’s last five league games, both ends have scored goals. Antwerp has won four of their last five matches against Eupen, going unbeaten overall.

Faris Haroun, Arbnor Muja, Sam Vines, Björn Engels, Davino Verhulst, Alhassan Yusuf, Pieter Gerkens, and Koji Miyoshi will not be available to Antwerp manager Mark van Bommel. Due to the weight of his suspension, Calvin Stengs cannot participate in the game.
In order to build the team, Eupen manager Edward Still must deal with a limited number of options. Jan Gorenc and Jérôme Déom will not be in the eleven.
