In the third round of the FA Cup, Aston Villa will host Stevenage at Villa Park on Sunday (January 8).
The hosts are coming off a midweek Premier League 1-1 draw against Wolves at the same venue. The visitors took the lead in the 12th minute through Daniel Podence, but Danny Ings came off the bench 12 minutes later to level the score.
In League Two, Stevenage defeated Gillingham by a score of 1-0 at home. The goal scored in the 23rd minute by Carl Piergianni proved to be the difference between the two teams.
The FA Cup will now be the focus of the Hertfordshire team. With a straightforward 3-0 victory at the King’s Lynn in the second round of the competition in November, they secured their place at this stage. In the second half, Luke Norris scored twice to help his team advance.

Aston Villa has struggled at home in recent months, currently going four games without a victory.
The West Midlands team is the favorite to win at Stevenage’s expense, but the League Two team is confident due to their good run of form. The FA Cup, on the other hand, is known for its tendency to cause upsets. Stevenage has the ability to surprise, but Villa should easily win this high-scoring match.
Prediction: Aston Villa 3-1 Stevenage
The two teams will meet for the first time in a competitive setting. In all competitions, Villa is winless in four home games. Five of their nine league games have been won by Stevenage, who are undefeated.
There have been goals at both ends in four of Villa’s last five home games across all competitions, with at least three goals scored in three of those games. At least one team has failed to score in each of Stevenage’s last six games.
