The ninth season of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), Bangladesh’s highest-level professional Twenty20 cricket league, organized by the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) is the 2023 Bangladesh Premier League, also known as BPL 9 or Ispahani BPL 2023 Powered by Minister Group (for sponsorship reasons).
The BCB announced the BPL schedule for the next three seasons in July 2022, following the International Cricket Council’s inclusion of January and February for this league in its Future Tours Programme. As a result, the ninth season was planned to air in 2023 from January 5 to February 16.
In addition, BCB decided to sell the franchise rights for three years beginning with this season and bring the number of teams to seven. The list of franchise owners was released by BCB in September 2022, with Rangpur Riders returning after two seasons and five of the previous six franchises remaining in control.
The BCB announced the schedule for this season on December 24, 2022. In the group stage, there will be two games per day and reserve days for all knockout games.
