Beginning soon, the second season of “Right to Protein”

The run aims to promote the “Right to Protein” concept and raise awareness of the significance of protein in daily diet. The Nepal Veterinary Association and the U.S. Soybean Export Council (USSEC) are getting ready to put on the second edition of the “Right to Protein Run” half marathon and a number of other races in other categories.

The goal of “Right to Protein” is to make protein consumption more important as part of a healthy diet. The run aims to promote the “Right to Protein” concept and raise awareness of the significance of protein in daily diet. A nation’s strength lies in its healthy citizens. This requires access to well-balanced food that is readily available.

Sadly, a significant portion of the population from developing nations like Nepal lacks access to nutritious food. More specifically, a lack of protein-rich foods like soy, milk, meat, eggs, and legumes in people’s diets on a daily basis has led to the malnutrition of millions of Nepalese, including the problem of stunting in nearly 40% of children under the age of 5.

In addition, the primary factors contributing to the low protein consumption in Nepal are a lack of awareness of the significance of protein and a diet that is well-balanced. Given the circumstances, the “Right to Protein Run” is a novel strategy for promoting protein consumption in Nepalese diets by targeting health-conscious and active lifestyle influencers and other industry leaders.

It marks a historic partnership between the Nepal Veterinary Association and the “Right to Protein” initiative to achieve a common health advocacy objective. However, increasing global protein consumption requires ongoing consumer education, and USSEC is always willing to participate in events that help us advance the cause.

At USSEC, promoting protein sufficiency is one of our main strategies. It perfectly aligns with the goal of the “Right to Protein Run,” which was organized by the Nepal Veterinary Association. Together, we believe that we can be a catalyst for national and eventually global development and improve protein status by raising protein consumption awareness.

The run will begin and end at the Dasharath Stadium in Tripureshwor on the 7th of May 2079. Which is the 21st of January 2022. The race is expected to attract approximately 3500 participants. There are various race categories in this competition. Including open half marathon (separately for men and women), 10 km (male), 5 km (female), and 5 km (male). 3 km (female) for students in kindergarten through 12th grade.

In addition, there is an open wheelchair race for citizens with disabilities. The cash prize is worth 13.76 lakhs NRs in total. A cash prize of NRs will be given to the half-marathon winner. 1 lakh, while cash prizes will also be given to the top five winners. All participants in their respective categories will receive a certificate and medal.

The event’s supporting partners include a number of organizations affiliated with the Nepal Feed Industries Association (NFIA). The event has been approved by the Nepal Athletics Association, which will also provide technical assistance. The U.S. Soybean Export Council (USSEC) is also promoting the event. Which is powered by the protein awareness and education initiative “Right To Protein.”

Some of the partners are Primera Hospital, E-Sewa, ISS, Marriott Kathmandu, and Fairfield by Marriott. Through the e-sewa portal or the foreplay services. You can pay a small fee of NRs 300 to register for the event online. Refreshments and a free t-shirt will be given to participants.
