At the 2022 AFF Championship, Brunei and Indonesia square off on Monday at the KLFA Stadium in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The Hornets have lost both of their matches so far in the tournament, losing to Thailand 5-0 in the first game and to the Philippines 5-1 in the second.
With a goal difference of -9 and no points to their name, Mario Rivera’s team is at the bottom of Group A and the favorite to lose in the first round. In contrast, Indonesia’s campaign got off to a fast start on Friday when they beat Cambodia by a score of 2-1.
The Garuda Team’s first goal in the seventh minute was canceled out by Cambodia’s Sareth Krya, but Indonesia’s goal in the 35th minute from Witan Sulaeman secured all three points.

At 190 in the FIFA rankings, Brunei, 39 places below Indonesia, has performed pathetically in the Championship thus far. Their guard has come up short on kind of strength while the going after cutting edge has been without any trace of administration.
We won’t put it past Indonesia, who narrowly defeated Cambodia in their opening match, to secure all three points here. They can feel another victory in their bones against one of the weakest teams in the world.
Prediction: Brunei 0-3 Indonesia
In their ten encounters with Brunei, Indonesia has won six and lost two, the most recent occurring in March 1990. Indonesia has prevailed over Brunei in each of their last three games by a score of 11-0. The last time Brunei and Indonesia played each other in an international friendly was in September 2012, when the Garuda Team won 5-0.
At this point in the year, Indonesia has won four games. In their last six games, Indonesia has only managed to keep one clean sheet. Brunei has lost six of their eight games this year, including their last three, and has only kept one clean sheet in 2022 (a 1-0 victory over Laos).
Brunei is competing in their second AFF Championship after losing to the Hornets in the group stages in 1996. This is Brunei’s second appearance in the competition.
