For the first time in seven years, Team India has played a Test match and traveled to Bangladesh for a bilateral series. Three one-day internationals and a few red-ball matches will be played between the two teams. The ODI series will mark the beginning of the Men in Blue’s preparation for the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 as players like Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and KL Rahul return from a brief break following the T20 World Cup.
The Men in Blue will continue to be without Ravindra Jadeja and Jasprit Bumrah due to injuries, but Mohammed Shami has been added to the list. There will be a first-choice batting lineup. In the remaining six Test matches of the current WTC cycle, India will be without Shami in addition to the ODIs, as Bumrah is unable to play.
Bangladesh, on the other hand, will not have their ODI captain, Tamim Iqbal, because of an injury; Litton Das, a skilled batsman, will take his place as captain. The hosts hope to use their circumstances to upset the competition in what promises to be an interesting series.
