In the AFF Championship, Laos will play Singapore on Tuesday (December 27) at the New Laos National Stadium in Vientiane, hoping to win for the first time this season. The Million Elephants are bottom of Group B after two games without a point or goal. In their first match, they lost 6-0 to Vietnam, then they beat Malaysia 5-0.
Laos is one of the weakest teams in the world, ranked 187th, and this has been clear throughout the tournament. In contrast, Singapore’s campaign got off to a rocky start with a 3-2 defeat to Myanmar on Friday. In the 34th minute, Maung Maung Lwin gave the Chinthe the lead, but Ilhan Fandi and Shah Shahiran scored after the break to give the Kallang Lions a 2-1 lead.
Shawal Anuar, on the other hand, scored the game-winning goal for Singapore eight minutes after Lwin had evened the score in the 66th minute.

Laos has had a terrible time in the AFF Championship, losing both games by a significant margin. Singapore will relish their opportunities because they possess the attacking quality necessary to further afflict the Million Elephants.
Prediction: Laos 0-3 Singapore
The two teams have met 12 times, with Singapore winning ten of those games and losing only once to Laos, a 3-0 defeat in the 1970 King’s Cup. Singapore has won nine games in a row in this match. Singapore has won their last two games, having defeated Maldives in a friendly and beating Myanmar in the Championship.
This year, Laos have lost five of their last six games, allowing 20 goals while only scoring once. In their 12 previous appearances, Laos has never advanced beyond the group stage of the AFF Championship. Despite having won the ASEAN tournament four times, Singapore’s most recent victory came in 2012.
At the Championship, Laos conceded the most goals (11).
