After taking a break for the FA Cup at the end of January, Manchester and Everton both return to WSL action this weekend. Both teams had mixed results in that competition. Against Sunderland and Birmingham, both in the Championship, United had to work hard to win, while the Toffees were shocked when they lost at home.
United are looking to maintain the kind of form that has placed them in a strong position to win the Champions League and possibly more going into the weekend at the top of the WSL. Despite their recent run of victories, Everton is still five points behind Manchester City in fifth place.

Even though Everton has won three straight WSL games, the odds are stacked heavily in Manchester United’s favor heading into this season. Everton has never defeated United in the WSL, losing five times and earning just one point out of a possible 18.
That one point also came at home, where United played extremely well, particularly at Leigh Sports Village, where Chelsea, the defending champions, is the only visiting team to score a WSL goal there since November 2021. United have scored seven goals and prevailed in both of their meetings thus far this season, one on Merseyside in the WSL and the other at Leigh in the Conti Cup.
Prediction: Man Utd 3-0 Everton
The teams played eight matches against each other, with Manchester United (W) winning seven of them and Everton (W) winning zero and drawing one. The teams were unable to determine which team was stronger, so the matches ended in a draw. On October 30, 2022, they met for the last time in a head-to-head match, and the outcome was 0:3. The following conclusions can be drawn from the statistics of goals scored and goals conceded: 20-5.
Due to an injury, Leah Galton has been ruled out for the Red Devils’ next three games. Marc Skinner, United’s manager, has revealed that January signings Jayde Riviere and Lisa Naalsund will have to wait four to five weeks for their debuts because they are still not fully fit.
Alessia Russo, who will be out of contract at the end of the season, was the subject of two Arsenal bids in the January transfer window. One of those bids would have been for a transfer that would have set a world record and cost £500,000. However, Arsenal rejected the bids, and the England international will now focus on the field when she leads the line on Sunday.
