In the second round of Ligue 1 football, Olympique Marseille will play Toulouse at the Orange Velodrome on Thursday. The home team is still looking for a spot in the UEFA Champions League after a mostly successful league campaign. In their most recent league game, they defeated Monaco 3-2 on the road. In the game’s final 15 minutes, Jordan Veretout and Sead Kolasinac scored to secure all three points.
With 30 points from 15 games, Marseille is fourth in the league and hopes to improve that this week. Although their return to Ligue 1 was not without bumps, Toulouse are still on track to remain in the top flight. They played their final competitive game against high-flying Stade Rennais, losing 2-1, before playing three friendlies, drawing once and losing twice, before the international break.

After losing their previous four league contests, Marseille is now winning consecutive games. In their most recent home league game, they defeated Olympique Lyon 1-0 and will try to build on that this week.
On the other hand, Toulouse has lost their last two matches and has not won any of their last seven across all competitions. They have lost five of their last six league games played away, and they might lose this one as well.
Prediction: Olympique Marseille 3-1 Toulouse
Olympique Marseille and Toulouse will meet for the 45th time on Thursday. While the visitors have won half of their previous encounters, the hosts have won 19 of their previous encounters. There have been 17 draws between the different sides. Since 2016, the hosts have not lost in this fixture in their last ten games.
The visitors have not kept a clean sheet in their last six games against this opponent or their last 11 games overall. The Olympians have lost two of their three Ligue 1 matches this season on their own turf. This season, Toulouse have only scored four points on the road in the league. Only Nantes (3) has scored fewer goals. With 13 goals conceded, Marseille’s defensive record this season ranks third in Ligue 1.
