The Pondicherry T20 competition came to an end on Thursday with the conclusion of the 19th and 20th games. The first match of the day featured Pondicherry North XI and Yanam XI, while the second match pitted Pondicherry South XI and Karaikal XI against one another. Points of Pondicherry T20 2024
Pondicherry North XI beat Yanam XI by a score of 36 runs in the opening match. Meanwhile, Karaikal XI trounced Pondicherry South XI by one wicket in an exciting match that concluded.
Following this victory, Karaikal XI now sits atop the rankings with nine points from seven games. They have three victories, one defeat, and three draws from their games. With eight points from seven games, Pondicherry South XI dropped to second position.
Simultaneously, with their second victory of the competition, Pondicherry North XI shot up to fourth position in the rankings. They now have six points in their account after seven games.
With five points from seven games, Yanam XI has fallen to the bottom of the standings. The Karaikal XI successfully robs the Pondicherry South XI.
Pondicherry South XI scored 120/8 in 20 overs while batting first. Despite scoring 32 runs in the middle order, Karan Kannan could not get adequate support from the opponents.
The bowlers for Pondicherry South XI, however, made a fantastic attempt to make a contest out of it, but Gopal Thivagar’s 38-run knock moved Karaikal XI closer to the goal. Ultimately, Dhivagaran Chandra Sekaran’s perfect 13-run innings proved to be the winning margin as Karaikal won by one wicket.
In the meantime, Pondicherry North XI scored 160/6 in 20 overs in the opening game. Omar Patni, who had a five-for, wreaked havoc with the ball while defending the total. During his four overs, he took five wickets for 13 runs. In the meantime, Rajakavi Rajgopal provided him with support at the other end with three wickets. By 36 runs, Pondicherry prevailed.
