The tournament will begin with a match between the Galle Gladiators and the Jaffna Kings and will last 17 days, ending on December 23. The competition will include five teams, featuring the reigning champions Jaffna Kings.

T20 international stars from Sri Lanka, such as Kusal Mendis and Thisara Perera, will compete, as will international players such as Carlos Brathwaite and Haider Ali, among others. The matches will be held at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo, the Mahinda Rajapaksa International Cricket Stadium in Hambantota, and the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium in Kandy, with the final in Colombo.

The T20 competition will include the Colombo Stars, Dambulla Giants, Galle Gladiators, Jaffna Kings, and Kandy Falcons. The Lankan tournament will be played in a double round-robin style, with each club playing each other twice. The top four clubs in the league will advance to the playoffs at the end of the season.

The Lanka Premier League 2022 will be broadcast live in India on Sony Sports Ten 1, Sony Sports Ten 1, Sony Sports Ten 1 HD, Sony Sports Ten 5, and Sony Sports Ten 5 HD.

Sri Lankans: The Lanka Premier League is available to home viewers on ADA Derana and Sony Platforms, with live coverage on Ten Sports.

India: Viewers in India will be able to watch on Sony TV and Ten Cricket, with streaming accessible on Sony Liv.

UK viewers may follow the action on Premier Sports stations and live stream the competition on Viaplay.

Australia: The competition will be aired on Fox Sports in Australia. The broadcast begins at 2.45 p.m. AEDT.
