“Will Gain A Lot From This Tour”: India Star On KL Rahul’s Return

“Will Gain A Lot From This Tour”: India Star On KL Rahul’s Return: He may have been demoted to vice-captain following KL Rahul’s late inclusion, but the senior-most participant in the group is always prepared to provide a helping hand to the younger gamers who search for him.

He may have been demoted because of KL Rahul’s late inclusion. Dhawan was going to lead the team in a one-day international series that was going to be held right here, but now that he is going to be performing the duties of a deputy, he is allowed to put his best foot forward.

“I quite love it when the younger members of the team ask me questions about my expertise. When I arrived for the first time in 2014 (although it was actually 2013), Duncan Fletcher was the coach of the Indian team. Dhawan made these remarks to the reporters present at a media convention held in this location. “If they (young people) call out to me for any advice, I am (always) there to answer them,” Dhawan stated.

The southpaw, who is 36 years old and plays captain, is pretty delighted that Rahul will get the much-needed sports time in front of the critically essential Asia Cup.

“It is very encouraging to hear that KL (Rahul) has returned, and that he will continue to serve as captain of the team. He is a key member of the Indian team and one of its main players. Before the start of the Asia Cup, he will have a successful excursion thanks to this. I have no doubt that he will take away a great deal of knowledge from this trip,” Dhawan said.

After suffering an injury to his left shoulder while competing in the Royal London One-Day Cup, all-rounder Washington Sundar, who had been a lock to start against Zimbabwe, was forced to withdraw from the match.

In February of 2021, a young man from Chennai, who was 22 years old at the time, was selected to represent India in a series against the West Indies.

“It’s a shame that Washington had to leave. He is a rather key cog in the machine for the team. But it’s part and parcel…injuries happen. There is hope that he will be better shortly. The Indian vice captain highlighted that they had a decent backup spinner in Kuldeep Yadav and Deepak Hooda, who can also bowl off-spin. “He would be missed as a spinner,” the vice-captain said.

    Dhawan

Dhawan is of the opinion that India should not take Zimbabwe, particularly after their most recent victory in a series against Bangladesh. This is despite the fact that India is currently in the southern African nation for the first time since 2016 and has not played a lot against them in the most recent couple of years.

They were successful in their match against Bangladesh. They are playing some excellent cricket right now. It is beneficial for us, and we must not to take anything for granted. It’s all about the process, really.

“No matter who we’re up against, we always make it a point to conduct ourselves in such a way that ensures we’ll end up with the outcomes we want,” she said. According to Dhawan, that will quickly become the centre of our attention once more as a collective.

Dhawan lauded the senior Zimbabwean batter Sikandar Raza and stated that the Indian bowlers will need to bowl intelligently against the latter in order to control him at the appropriate time.

“He is a good participant. He has a very lengthy history of competing for Zimbabwe in a variety of sports. He is a very capable participant. I’m sure our bowlers will come up with some effective strategies for you to use against him,” he said.

Dhawan continued by saying that the series against Zimbabwe will be essential for a number of the younger players in the squad, including Shubman Gill, Avesh Khan, and Ishan Kishan, and that the exposure that these players are getting will be immensely useful to them in the coming days.

“Recently, the children have received an increased amount of publicity. They are confident, and they have an effective method. Because of their success at home and in the IPL, their confidence level is at an all-time high. Now that we have so many options, we feel that we have truly expanded our options. According to Dhawan, this sends a positive message to the group as a whole.
