India suffered a 10-wicket loss to Pakistan in their first game. The Men in Green finally succeeded in ending India’s age-old dominance and unbroken winning streak against them in the World Cup events. Babar Azam became the first captain to lead Pakistan to a victory after five consecutive losses in the T20 world cup and achieved a magnificent record that the Pakistan legends couldn’t do. Choosing to bowl first, Shaheen Afridi provided a brilliant start to send the Indian openers back to Pavilion within the powerplay. Pakistan bowlers never allowed India to gain the upper hand in the game and mounted continuous pressure. Although captain Kolhi played a sensible knock with the help of keeper Rishabh Pant, the total wasn’t enough to defend. Pakistan openers Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan dominated Indian bowlers and took the team home without losing a wicket. India will surely go all the way to come back stronger in their next game against New Zealand.

New Zealand skipper Kane Williamson was disappointed with their performance against Pakistan in their first game on Tuesday (26 October) but had many positives to take forward. Kiwis’s bowling was exceptional to defend a little score and take the chase till the final over. The Black Caps will undoubtedly look to bounce back when they encounter India this Sunday. New Zealand has a better record against India in World Cup events and has always played a spoilsport for Men in Blue. India lost to New Zealand recently in June when they met Kiwis in the World Test Championship Final.
